HILLSBORO HIGH SCHOOL MID-YEAR REPORT FOR SAIGON CHILDREN'S CHARITY
For the 2005 *2006 school year we have raised $11,875.00
- this includes a gift from an individual donor of $5,500 to build Hillsboro East High School for SCC
- the above total also includes $240 from sale of Christmas cards for SCC
- $300 of this total is from Montgomery Bell Academy toward their pledge to provide 33% or 20 bicycles of SCC's total goal for the year
The remaining funds have come from the following sources:
- $1,305.00 from Hillsboro students, faculty and staff
- $200.00 from Hillsboro student Will Ferrell and his efforts
- $250.00 from Zac Moore and his efforts at Loveland H.S. in Loveland, Ohio
- $4,080.00 in gifts from friends of Mr. Young
For the first six months efforts Hillsboro High School has provided scholarships for 114 children to attend school, purchased 13 bicycles and attained the funds to build 1 school in a rural area of southern Vietnam.
For the two and one half years Hillsboro High School has worked to help Saigon Children's Charity the following has been accomplished:
- 2003-04 $2,375.00
- 2004-05 $4,200.00
- 2005-06 $11,875.00
- HHS & friends have raised a total of $18,450.00
- Provided 237 scholarships for children to attend school
- Purchased 30 bicycles for the most needy students
- Attained the necessary funds to build one school
- Provided 29.5 tons of rice to scholarship recipients and their families
Hillsboro High School should also be proud that for the last year and a half HHS has accounted for right at 50% of all scholarship gifts to Saigon Children's Charity from the United States of America.
