Hillsboro PTSA
Meeting Minutes
Principal’s Report – Welcome Freshmen parents. We have one of the largest PTSAs in the city. They provide excellent physical and material support. We ranked 474 out of 27,000 high schools based on academics and testing with 35-40% of our students eligible for free and reduced lunches. We have one lunch period. Good staff and students make that happen. It is gives us time for clubs, intramurals, and such. We need to step up to reduce the drop out rate. Burro Time – is a mentoring group in its second year. We are meeting once a week this year. We are continuing our athletic tradition with soccer, cross country, tennis and football going on now. We have a very diverse population with over 40 countries represented last year. Welcome to the Burro Dome!
Student Council Report – We are looking forward to several community service projects this year. The Knit Wits will knit hats and sweaters for the Edge Hill Day Care Center.
