How can I get email news from Hillsboro? If you didn't sign up for Listserv through the form in the First Day Packet, you can sign up now via email. Just send your student's name, grade (this is important), and up to four email addresses to HillsboroNews@bellsouth.net, and we'll add you to the list. These ListServ messages go out regularly to keep you apprised of school-wide and grade-specific events and information
| If your student is a car rider, please drop them off and pick them up at the Vocational Building entrance which is located across from the post office on Glen Echo. The main entrance to the school at the front of the building is EXTREMELY BUSY immediately before and after school due to bus traffic. Students may not be picked up at the front of the building unless it is after 2:35 pm. |
If a student arrives at school AFTER 1st period, they MUST sign in with their office or they will be counted absent for the day. If a student arrives at school during 1st period, they report straight to their 1st period class. They are not required to check in with the office. Parents can, but are not required to, call the school (298-8400 ext 2004) and let them know if their student is sick and will not be at school that day. Even if a parent calls the school in advance to let them know about an absence, the student should still bring a note from home upon returning to school, take it to their office, and receive an official excuse note to show their teachers. Students who leave school prior to 10:45 AM and do not return, or students who arrive tardy to school after 10:45 AM are counted absent for the day as they are not at school long enough to be considered present. If a student needs to be dismissed for an appointment, instead of waiting until just before the appointment time and calling the school to have the student dismissed, send a note to school with the student and have them take it to their office prior to 1st period and they will be given a note to leave at the required time. Parents calling the school to have their student dismissed may not be able to speak with a secretary and have to leave a message, which will delay the student’s dismissal. It is imperative we have correct contact information for each student. If any of your phone numbers have changed, if your address has changed, please contact your student’s office immediately so they may put the correct information into our computer system. |
