If you do not have internet access at home, the Guidance Office now has 3 computers with Internet access for researching colleges, scholarships and careers. You can also apply online and print from these computers.   These computers are available before and after school and during lunch.

Name of Scholarship:  Georgia Institute of Technology President's Scholarship

Criteria:  Competitive GPA and test scores

Name of Scholarship:  Navy ROTC

Criteria:  SAT Math and Verbal combined score of 1290, minimum math score of 650 or

ACT Math and Verbal combined score of 57, minimum math score of 29; rank in the top 20% of senior class; be physically fit and meet the Navy's height and weight standards; must not have been convicted of a DWI/DUI or any felony; must not have any past history of drug use or experimentation

Name of Scholarship:  Coca-Cola Scholars Program

Criteria:  All students are invited to apply, but historically students with a 3.0 or better GPA have a much greater chance of advancement.

Name of Scholarship:  Tennessee Concrete Association Essay Contest

Criteria: National winner receives $5000 if enrolled in a concrete related curriculum such as those offered at MTSU.  $2000 if not enrolled in this curriculum

Name of Scholarship:   Soroptimist International Violet Richardson Award

Criteria:  Monetary award varies for young women involved in volunteer work.

Criteria:  Intend to earn a degree in engineering or a related science; meet minimum requirements with regard to GPA, SAT and/or ACT scores as outlined in the individual requirements of each scholarship

Name of Scholarship:  Elks National Foundation Scholarships

Criteria: Any male or female senior who is a US Citizen.  This is a merit scholarship based on ACT/SAT scores, Transcript, Financial need, Community Service, Extracurricular Activities, etc.,.

The scholarships below require that your counselor nominate you.  There is a limit to the number of nominations each high school may submit.  If you want to be considered for nomination, see your counselor two weeks before the deadline.  Do not assume that your counselor “knows” that you want to go to a certain school and will automatically nominate you!
